If you’re a makeup lover like I and everyone else in the makeup loving world, you’ve probably always wanted to know, what is the secret to achieving “summer glowy skin”? For a broke college student over like me, I’m always looking for makeup deals, especially ones that are usually worth my dinner money for that night. I have spent hours searching through Pinterest trying to find the perfect foundation to achieve just that. Now, I am no makeup expert but I do have a few years under my belt with wearing makeup, so this is what I have concluded that are the best summer foundations to achieve that J-Lo sun-kissed skin look.
Starting out at number 5 for best foundations for the summer is…
Now the reason, I am putting this at number 5 on our list is because this is boujie as fuck and if you’re anything like me, you’re a broke college student or a young adult with bills to pay and as much as I and the next girl down the line would LOVE to wear this as an “everyday foundation” it’s just not realistic. But with that being said, it is bomb as f***, and literally, makes you look like you’ve been kissed by the sun-god himself (if that even exist, but you get the point.) So it deserves a spot on our list.
Maybelline is always slayin and changing the makeup game, for a drugstore brand, Maybelline is pretty bomb. What I love about this foundation, is it’s perfect for girls like me who have more dry skin, now in contrary to that I will say girls with more oily skin this may not be your friend because of how “glowy” it can look on your skin. But I wouldn’t be quick to shut down the idea of this foundation because you can always make a little foundation go a long way and work with what’s best for your skin.
Alright y’all, I’m gonna need a moment to take in HOW AMAZING THIS STUFF IS!! Like holy crap, for a drugstore brand, this foundation will definitely give high-end makeup brands a run for their money. This foundation goes on SO smoothly and gives you such nice coverage. It’s also not too heavy either, which is something I HATE feeling like with summer foundations. It’s light on your face and totally buildable if you wanted a more covered look and has a nice glow to the foundation, but not to the point where it looks greasy or oily on your face. 10/10 would recommend to my broke college friends.
Yes, this is not the most price efficient product for a broke college girl but it does wonders for the skin so it deserves to be number two on our list today. This foundation or really I guess you would call it a BB cream, is an SPF and a foundation all in one (win, win). The formula in itself is super easy to build and so smooth on your skin and gives you a fresh looking glowy finish before you even apply other products to your face. Best part? It’s infused with antioxidants and vitamins for your skin. So breaking that down for people who don’t know what that means (aka me, 10 minutes before writing this) it basically means it helps your skin look younger and prevents wrinkles and helps with sun damage. Can I get a hell yeah, for making your skin look less old? (Idk, it sounded like it fit at the moment)
Last but not least the number one product for achieving summer glowy, looking J-Lo skin is….Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. AKA: THE HOLY GRAIL OF SUMMER FOUNDATIONS. Ugh, I could go on forever about this foundation. For starters, it has a weird yellow undertone to it, that for some reason just looks bomb on my skin and cancels out any dark spots or circles on my face. Second, the phrase “A little can go a long way” totally applies for this foundation, seriously all I need is maybe a pump and a half (If I’m going full-out on my makeup that day) and I’m set. So for the price you’re totally getting your money’s worth out of it because of how long it lasts. The foundation in itself is not too thick or heavy on my face and it’s super easy to blend out, as well as build if needed. The final look of the foundation looks super glowy and fresh on my face, hands down best foundation ever for achieving a “summer glowy look.”
