Hi loves! Unless you have been living under a rock for the past week you probably have experienced some type of winter weather. Personally, I hate the cold in no way shape or form was I cut out for cold weather and anyone who knows me will agree with me when I say I don’t hate many things in life, but I actually despise the cold. Unless I absolutely have to go outside I will not leave my house if it’s 30 degrees or below (am I slightly dramatic for this? probably). So to say that I made some serious sacrifices for today’s post is an understatement (promise, I’m not dramatic).  As I was getting ready to face my brave adventure into the arctic tundras of downtown Lexington it got me thinking, “How does one look cute while trying to not die from hypothermia?” I’m not 100% sure but for the hour I spent outside that day this is what kept me warm.

For this look, I decided to pair a long sleeve waffle knit tee from the Gap under my brown chunky Free People’s over-sized sweater. Of course, no snow day is complete without a pair of snow boots…or in my case rain boots but honestly, they really are the same thing when it comes to Hunter boots. I paired my classic black Hunter rain boots with a pair of dark skinnies from Old Navy and tied it all together with a brown peacoat from Nordstrom and my ray-ban round sunnies. I have owned my Hunters since my freshman year of high school so it’s been about 5 years since I’ve purchased them and Y’all they are such a staple item that everyone should have in their closet! They look as brand new as they did five years ago and they’re such a classic shoe that you can pair with so many different outfits no matter what the season. Which is something I really look for whenever I’m shopping or thinking about investing in an expensive piece! I have mentioned before that I don’t like to buy things that I can’t use year-round or that aren’t timeless pieces because I personally feel like it’s a waste of money unless it’s for an event or something of that sort. Reason #1029 why I adore my Hunters because I know that I will still be wearing these babies come my senior year of college, so if you are on the fence about making the splurge just take my word & trust me. You’ll thank me later. ALSO- Some of the things that I talked about in today’s blog post would not let me link the exact link back to them, so I gave Y’all some alternative options that I felt like were very similar to the items that I talked about today! Let me know if something is not working!   xo,   el
